False postive?

Hey everyone I have a few questions so about 2 weeks ago I found a genital wart got it removed everything was okay my doctor told me all the std testing came back negative. Well about 3 weeks ago I went and donated plasma first time. well all of a sudden yesterday I got called in about how I some how tested positive for syphilis? I am sure it's a flase positive because wouldn't my doctor have told me she saw something? Or was concerned? When I was younger my first obgyn said I had syphili! But I went to my primary doctor who tested me and she said I was fine I'm worried how 3 years later I some how have another positive.... I'm worried can anyone tell me how these false positives happen I need to ease my mind it's upsetting. And confusing I have been with one man and the same man for years I took another test .. so I'm hoping I'm okay and it's not something serious . My false positive years ago I believe happened because I was pregnant... Maybe I'm pregnant again and don't know it? But I highly doubt it . But I could really use some answers !

Hi. false positives are quite common with syphilis tests and thats why a second test is used to confirm it. Also you amost certainly would have a ulcer develop if you were initially infected and after 3 years would have developed all the stages that occur including a very noticalbe rash to brain damage. There are a slew of things that make false positives occur and to lengthly to go into detail here. Do let us know your test results but im sure your just fine.
