Faulty azithro dosage

ok really now... what is the dosage of azithro. He has given me 3 tablets of 500mg... i am suppose to take 1 a day... every 24 hours.. I looked that up and found that this is the perscription for throat, ear or nose infections... everywhere i look in terms of chlamydia i see one dose of 1000mg.. itried calling him but he is now gone for a month.. I havent taken it yet until i find out... when the pharmacist gave me the meds.. i asked her if I can take two at one time... she said no (but i think she didnt know i wa talking about chlamydia) then she hands me papers regarding the medication and there it says clearly... for chlamydia infections take 1000mg once (thus two tablets at the same time).... this is frustrating... !!

The 500mg x 3 days will most likely work even better than 1g at once.  Even better than that is to take 1g and then 500g the next day.  I'd finish the whole package.

Part of the reason they treat with 1g all at once is that there's a very good chance the patient will take all of the medicine compared to longer therapies. It's not because it's necessarily the perfect dosage.  Though a 1g "loading dosage" does help get the level in your blood up quickly.
