Hi doctor,
I'm a male in my 20s and I am worried that I have an STD. I received unprotected oral sex January 10 and we were both naked. In addition we touched each other sexually with our hands. She touched herself and then she touched me. There were no visible symptoms of her having an STD. The next morning, i had a burning sensation in my groin and this lasted for a little under a week. I have heard it been said that STDs do not show up until later and have done some research that says similarly. However, I have a sore on my buttocks and it has been there for about a month. I did not feel any pain or any signs beforehand, but i sat down and felt a lump. It did not hurt. I popped it around 5 days, and when I did, it popped much like a zit with a bit of fluid as well as the somewhat hardened white substance that comes out. I could not see it, but it did not seem like a blister to me. It is now just red and is still there. However, the amount that it was swollen has gone down. In addition, I will have this pain in the tip of my penis that has been recurring the past few weeks. On a scale of 1-10 it is like a 3 and only lasts a few seconds, never more than a minute and only happens a few times a day. It does not hurt to urinate. Besides the sore on my buttocks, there are no other visible symptoms. I am obviously very worried and it may be contributing to my symptoms.
What are the chances that the sore on my buttocks is herpes or another STD? How long should I wait to get tested for the array of possible STDs?
I really appreciate the response. I plan to get tested, but I want to know the right amount of time to pass before I go in to get screened.
