Fingering vagina with bleeding cuticle on finger

Dear Dr Hansfield,

I need your help to come to terms with this question that has been bothering me for months. I have read the forum many times about the risk of fingering a HIV positive female in the vagina with a bleeding citicle on one's finger, and have been told that there is no risk. But if your finger is bleeding and it contacts HIV positive vaginal fluid, why is HIV not transmitted from the vaginal fluid into the blood stream of the person with the bleeding finger?

Would you kindly help me with a more detailed answer? Really appreciate it. Thank you.

You need to pay the $15 in the EXPERT forum to get a Doctor's answer.  This is a free forum where anyone and everyone can give an opinion.  You can also try posting in the HIV Community.  That is where all HIV questions are supposed to be answered anyway.
