Is my son at risk?

About 12 years ago, I noticed some brown marks and n my palms. I couldn’t think of anything I did to get syphilis, but I got tested. It was negative. The marks lasted a few days.

Now I’m scared because my son was in diapers back then and I used my hands to apply diaper cream to his under area.

Was he at risk? What if it was a syphilis rash on my hands?

Greetings.
The rash you described was not a syphilis rash (it may be one of the symptoms but never the only one) . And you got tested - tests are very accurate for secondary syphilis (when rash appears).
So your son is 100% safe. And you should address your anxiety: it is a real risk for your son.
