Is there any way to prevent molluscum???

My bf has a few (like 4) bumps below waistline area which have been there for 2 months. Assuming it is molluscum, is there anyway to prevent me from getting them. Does liquid bandage or bandaids reduse chance of tramsmission? We have been together already before we knew what they were.Could I be immune? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. We were tested within a few weeks of each other.I tested in April at 1.68 for hsv2 and 3.3 for hsv2. I have only had slight burning(more like yeast)and a small cut. He tested in May over 5 for hsv1 (cold sore history) and 1.75 for Hsv2 with no herpes symptoms.Neither of us have had any herpes blisters or lesions. The bumps are in the hair area and he was a shaver at the time( has since stopped). They appeared in mid April. We assumed then they were herpes. We have been together a couple of times and i havent gotten them.Does this mean I wont? We are baffled by this.Any help would be appreciated.

no, herpes lesions will heal on their own even without treatment.

his low positive herpes status needs confirmed with further testing. have you been tested for herpes too?

He also tested a low positive for hsv2( 1.75) around the same time that these appeared. Is there anyway these bumps(which are not blisters) could be herpes that just refuse to go away? He's taken a month of valtrex with no results. I have never known of herpes to last 2 months. They are not painful and do not itch.

it's really too late now for precautions. he should be seen , get a proper diagnosis and if they agree that it looks like mc, they can remove them easily in the office.
