Hi Grace,
Thanks! you've been doing a great service to the community. God bless you.
augmentin is preferred for urogenital parainfluenza treatment.

Hi Grace,
It's just that i went to google it and none of the Haemophilus Parainfluenzae sites mentioned about using Augmentin, but rather a different kind of antibiotic (Zinnat).
Thanks,
The rate of hiv infection in the US is overall very low. It's up to you if you feel that testing again at 3 months is worthwhile or not. No reason to continue testing for 6 months though.
augmentin was a fine choice of antibiotics to treat the infection. any particular reason why you are questioning it?

Hi Grace,
Thanks for your response. Yes the Haemophilus parainfluenzea was found in a genital swab. however i was just wondering why the doctor gave me augmentin for treatment. Yes I did get a therapeutic massage to improve the muscle aches the stiff neck. Should i take another STD and HIV test after 3 and 6 months?
Thanks again.
37.3 is not considered an abnormal temperature at all. At this point I recommend putting away the thermometer because it's obviously causing you increased anxiety in general.
parainfluenza takes a few weeks to run its course ( was that detected in the oral swab or a swab from your genitals? ). They also threw a ton of antibiotics at you to cover this that and everything in between. You've covered your bases and no need for more testing.
If you continue to have muscle aches and a stiff neck, follow up on those with your regular doctor and stop thinking std's as a cause for everything since you've ruled them out at this point. Also think about treating yourself to nice theraputic ( not erotic ) massage too to help work out the kinks from all the stress you've been under for the last month :)
