Possible risk?

Hi all,

I was given unprotected oral sex on Oct 5th. Silly I know. No other contact except kissing. The guy did not have any noticeable sores etc. Since December 12th I have had a dull ache in the groin (swaps sides), radiating down legs and sometimes in the ribs and neck - this was combined with 2 spots/sores on my penis - I have had these before. This would be genital herpes.

On the 17th I went to see the doc who checked me over and found no lumps or bumps in the groin, my groin lymph nodes were slightly raised. She gave me a 10 day course of ciproflaxin.

Since starting the antibiotics  I have had an increased feeling of being unwell - headaches, muscle pain in back, ribs and abs. I also have dry lips (corners) and have now got a small red spot on my tummy. I say spot, it's bout 2mm, does not hurt or itch. No other symptoms.

Obviously I'm pretty scared and I'm going to get tested for all. Just wondered what your thoughts were?

Thanks in advance!

Hi grace!

Thank you for the swift reply! No, I have never been tested. Again, silly I know. I've only ever had a few outbreaks - few sores on penis, goes in a few days/1week. Never had any other symptoms like the ones I'm experiencing at the moment though.

Thanks again :)

so you've previously been properly diagnosed as having genital herpes?  most of your symptoms are very likely related to your herpes if so.

did they do any urine testing when you were seen?
