oral syphilis and Anxiety

10 weeks I had received and given oral to a female whom I didn't know. I get a STD panel done at 6 weeks and everything came back negative. On the day of my tests ( which was 6 weeks) I developed what looked like a canker sore on the inside of my cheek. That went away within 6 days.Around the 8th week I had developed another one which went away in 4 days. I have notices a very faint rash on my lower back I had a follow up appointment with my doctor and told him I was worried that maybe I tested too soon and I may have Syphilis. He examined me and said he didn't believe I was infected and did not recommend any further testing. I am goin to get tested again at 12 weeks to be sure. I just can't get it out of my head that I have Syphilis. Any insight would be much appreciated

Well, I did my 12 week test for Syphilis and HIV. It all came back negative just like you guys said it would. I wanted to come back and thank Grace and Life for there help. I do have one last question. I am still getting sores on the inside of my cheek and  sometimes on my tongue. Is there anything STD related that I should go get checked for?

Have you ever seen a 6 week negative turn positive later?

Thank you Grace and Life. I really do appreciate your help. Would either if you recommend retesting? Or was 6 week test sufficient.

probably just coincidence. worrying can cause you to bite the inside of your mouth too and cause these.

Grace, I can't remember the last time I did.  I just thought it strange that a canker sore show on the exact day of week 6.

it doesn't matter whether you have symptoms or not when you test by blood for syphilis.

really, no reason to think this is a std at all. have you ever had canker sores orally before?

If you took the test 6 weeks post exposure then you dont have it bottom line. OK?

Thanks life, its just that I read that syphilis may not show up positive if there are no symptoms. Is that true? I wasn't even concerned with syphilis when I took my panel unti that night when a canker sore appeared.

Hi and welcome. If you tested 6 weeks post exposure for syphilis it is conclusive.
