Oral Sex and Sore throat and HIV

I performed oral sex on a man on 2/7/2009. On 2/9/2009 I got a scratchy throat. I didnt think nothing of it because my kids (I am married) had colds. Well...it is now 3/9 and my throat is red and achey and so are my eustacian tubes (they tingle). Of course I very worried. I did have a hiv and gonorhea test about 19 days after the contact...both came back negative. I have read similar posts here on your board....but no one ever said what they had or what caused the sore throat, what cured it and how long. I plan on visiting a ENT (ear nose and throat specialist)....but i am also hesitant to tell him about the fellatio as he is our Doctor and I am married. Yes I am worried about HIV.....and I will test again in 2 months and than later in the year. But what do u feel could be causing this?

Oh I should add that the only thing this might be is gonorrhea, and with your eustacian tubes being involved, I'd doubt it is.

Most pharyngeal std infections will cause no symptoms, but why not go to an std clinic and get a throat swab done before going to the ENT?  You can self pay (if there is a charge) and no one will know.

Google your town, state and std clinics to find one near you.
