Weird Symptoms

Okay had intercourse with a women from South America and condom broke right at the end (for last 2 minutes or so). 4 days later had burning on urination in penis. Inside urethra had a couple of grey patches at tip.

After 2 weeks still burning and left foot has become a little numb, further 4 weeks burning in penis subsided but slight pinch feeling at tip sometimes. 30 days after exposure had full panel of tests done (Hep B Hep C, HIV1, HSV 1/2 Chlam Gono and Syph)  which only came back positive for HSV-1.

The real strange part is now after 6 weeks am getting burning in left foot and calf muscle and sensitivity in scrotum and left calf. Sometimes burning and sensitiity extends to right leg too. Doctor dismissed symptoms but they are there for whatever reason and it is frightening. Have been told no STI symptoms should last this long so am even more worried. Any ideas. Will retest for hsv and hiv at 3 months then take it from there.

Thank you for your comments. Yes I understand it could be  psychosomatic but have never had any  psychosomatic symptoms before. I have never had fever blisters and have never been tested for HSV-1 so not sure if I ever had it before. Only way to make sure now would be to get a culture done if I ever have an active lesion but these are not always reliable.

Yes I too believe that herpes does all that weird nerve stuff but HSV-1 is meant to be more mild if caught genitally due to that fact that it is not in it's preferential site. Also the symptoms are not meant to last any longer than 4 weeks max and I am going on 6 weeks!!!

I guess I should try some medication and see if that works.  If it is psychosomatic then why is my urethra red raw at times when the pain occurs.

This is some funky stuff but I am very happy that I did not test positive for HSV-2 that would be a real disaster.  Although need to retest in 6 more weeks to make absolutely certain.

People are too quick to dismiss symptoms maybe there is truth in some of these symptoms which are rare but REAL in people and need to be looked at further by the medical community.

I will update this post with my progress as I am determined to get to the bottom of this even if it is  psychosomatic I want to find a way of dealing with that.

I am also doing some healing yoga and hope that that helps...we will see.

Herpes does all that weird nerve stuff. Did you have coldsores or hsv 1 before? Maybe you did just get it??

Well, I guess you can keep "doctor shopping" and find a doctor who will engage your  anxiety symptoms.

There  are actually many different ways to describe what you have:  Your symptoms are functional. Psychosomatic. You are somatizing. They are in your mind. All in your head.
