HPV FEAR

Hello I’m 20 years old I had given a unprotected cunnilingus to a prostitute. I been so scared of throat cancer and that I would not know how I got throat cancer since I’m a male but is it most likely possible I already got hp16 and hp18 from the prostitute even if she is vaccinated? I’m really scared that I have a silent death awaiting for me please help.

I think you would be at a higher risk for throat cancer if you were a smoker than if you gave a one time blow job to a sex worker that has been vaccinated against HPV. (Yes, vaccination does ward off HPV-16.) Have you, yourself been vaccinated against HPV?

Hello, I’m currently waiting for my std Results for any vaccine specifically hepatias b and hpv I had in the past. I’m just extremely scared that I wouldn’t know if I had hpv throat cancer or not but I also I’m eating healthy and drinking a lot more water lately and trying to calm my stress level. I also want to know since she is supposedly vaccinated does she lower her chance of spreading it to me? Or it still possible? Either way I’m going to find out if I had it or not I will update you on that.
I will update you on wether or not I had a vaccine
Of all the things to worry about in this world, throat cancer shouldn't be at the top of the list.

"The American Cancer Society’s most recent estimates for laryngeal cancer in the United States for 2022 are:

About 12,470 new cases of laryngeal cancer (9,820 in men and 2,650 in women)
About 3,820 people (3,070 men and 750 women) will die from laryngeal cancer"

Other countries have stats that are even lower than the US, if you live in Canada, the UK, etc.

Smoking is the most important risk factor for these cancers, and moderate or heavy alcohol use is also an important risk. If you combine those, it actually multiplies the risk by many times.  (https://www.cancer.org/cancer/laryngeal-and-hypopharyngeal-cancer/causes-risks-prevention/risk-factors.html)

You're 20. You're way too young to be worried about throat cancer. Don't smoke, watch your drinking, eat well, exercise, and get the HPV vaccine. Men are more likely to get throat cancers than women, but it's not from cunnilingus - it's from smoking and drinking.

Maybe talk to your doctor about your anxiety, too.

Take care.
