Recurrent NGU

Hello,

I have been diagnosed with recurrent NGU after having treatment failures with Azithromycin and Doxycyline. I am currently on Erythromycin and Metrodinazole for 14 days.

After how long will I start to see the results of the medication, that is , disappearance of symptoms?

Could it be possible that I have mycoplasma genitalium as I understand the diagnostic tests are not available?

If ever, there is treatment failure, what does it suggest?

Thanks.

Ashwin

Actually, they did some urine tests and they saw nothing wrong.

I was on doxycyline for 28 days , I suppose for prostatitis.

Thanks,

Has anyone cultured your urine or sperm to see exactly what bacteria is causing this?  That's what you need to have done next.  When they do that, they can also do a test to find out exactly what antibiotics will work to cure it.

You should also get your prostate checked.  Sometimes, NGU is caused by an infection in the prostate.

Have you searched this site for mycoplasm?  Another member, StillHurting, has some great posts about that topic.

Good luck,
AJ
