Doubt about gonorrhea

Hello

I'm a male who received unprotected oral sex from 3 other males (in different days), the last time this happened was 3 years ago. I never had any symptoms of any std, i did test for hiv after that, one and a half years later, and it came out negative. I never tested for other stds because i never had symptoms and except for chlamydia that you cant get from receiving oral, the others show symptoms. However,i read some articles on internet and somehow they got me nervous. Now i feel anxious and nervous, maybe its a guilty problem, i was already with my girlfriend when this happened 3 years ago and its a total secret...Beside this episodes, she was my only sexual partner in my life. Her ginecologist asked to do some exams, 2 months ago, including hiv and other stds and all came out negative.

Since oral sex is low risk intercourse and this exposures were very brief should i be worried?
Since from what i know, oral gonorrhea is not common, can i assume its even more uncommon to get it from receiving oral sex?
Since i never had any symptoms, should i relax? Because from what i know gonorrhea almost always has symptoms in males?

Thank you very much, help me please!

if your gf is negative for hsv1, you risk transmitting hsv1 to her genitally when performing oral sex. it's an annoyance more than anything but if you have hsv1 and she doesn't, avoiding oral sex during pregnancy to protect the baby is always the best idea.

don't confuse guilt with risk. you were low risk for any std from oral sex, you've had no symptoms and it's been 3 years now. time to move past it. If you can't, work it out with a therapist so you don't carry around unneeded baggage to weigh you down mentally.   Nothing wrong with checking out "the other team" so to speak, I realize though that doing it while in a relationship is what is the real complication.   forgive yourself so you can move forward and stop worrying needlessly!

Once more, you are totally right! I think internet has the best and the worse and in what respects to deseases in general, if you try to find out on internet something, sometimes you get so scared because of what you read that you start to freakout and think you have lots of deseases that will kill you or ruin your life!

What i found here on Medhelp was exactly what you said, comments and posters that explain well how things work and do not try to scare, just try to be realistic with people that are looking for help!

I hope my anxiety starts to go down now, thanks to you and to what i've already read. I cant think that i'm alone and that the world is falling over me, the truth is that i have to stop with this guilt and forgive me.

You are also absolutely right about the monogamy. The thing in my case is that i absolutely love my wife, i have no doubts of that, and also i have no doubts of my sexual orientation but for some reason, that episodes happened, maybe weak or confusing days for me. However  it never happened again and since we got married, i'm in a total commitment for life, and i'm absolutely not scared about that or about being monogamist. I'm happy like i've never been since we are married, this is fortunately the only ghost i have in my life and now i really want to forget it and move on.

I'm sorry for my english but as you may already have noticed i'm not american.

Thank you so much again Grace!

it's not a bother - I'm glad you found a place with knowledgeable posters to ask your questions at - many forums would've scared you needlessly and added to your anxiety.

monogamy isn't easy - if it was, the divorce rate would be far lower than it is !

You're so right Grace, the main problem of checking is precisely the fact that i'm in a serious relation and that supposedly i never had any other sexual experience beside my wife...
I'll manage to forget those episodes, and you had a big part helping me to do so!
I know that when this kind of things happen, our brain blocks and we cant think clear, we can only see the dark and worse part of everything...but that is what you said, it's the guilty and the fear covering our brain.
When that happened, 3 years ago, i was not aware of the risk of gonorrhea for example, now i am, and it was maybe this new information, plus the guilt and the anxiety of wanting to start a family that made me think like this and start panic!
Thank you so much for your support and advice. You were great! Sorry for bothering you!
I'll do my best to forget this episode and do not let fear and guilt follow me and block my thoughts...

Thank you so much Grace!

Oh grace, you're great, you cant imagine how relieved i feel now, after this chat with you!
I didnt know that about hsv-1 and oral sex during pregnancy...i'm going to check that. The risk is to pass it to the baby? Meaning that the risk is that hsv1 (if i have it) can pass to her genital area, is that right?

So, and just to stop bothering you, one last question:
- You would say that beside this hsv1 check that i should do, and considering our sexual history, i can relax and forget this oral sex episodes 3 years ago and stop thinking about having gonorrhea?I can forgive myself...?

In this particular situation, no symptoms, no worries...right?
I'll never do anything like this again...what a lesson!

Wait for your response, thank you sooooo much again!

no gonorrhea isn't the most probable actually.

just because your gf tested for herpes, doesn't mean you don't have hsv1 yourself. knowing your hsv1 status is helpful so that you know if you should avoid oral sex completely or not when she does become pregnant. 1 out of every 2-3 of us has it whether we get obvious cold sores or not. many of us contract it as small children from care givers so it's not something you have to have multiple partners to be concerned about.

really, not worth any testing from the oral sex at this point. cover the herpes bases because of wanting to start a family :)

Thank you so much Grace, you can´t imagine how comforting it was for me to receive your answer.
I never had a full std screening because beside this oral sex episodes, outside my relation, i never had any other sexual partner and the same to my girlfriend. We are together as a couple for eleven years now, and we got married one year and a half ago. I love her like crazy, and just the idea of what i've done kills me. I wish i've never done that....
We have a perfectly normal sexual life, she made a complete screening (including herpes) because we are thinking about having a baby and all results came back negative and ok.
Correct me if i'm wrong but from this episodes the most probable was gonorrhea, but that would almost for sure have developed symptoms on me right? In man gonorrhea is rarely assymptomatic right?
If you dont recommend testing from oral sex without symptoms and this were the only dangerous episodes i had, i shouldn't be worried or thinking on this right? Because this were the only dangerous episodes i had...

Thank you so much again, wait for your answer if you please.

we don't recommend any testing from oral sex unless you develop obvious symptoms. you've had no symptoms.

if you've never had a full std screening done, you should to protect your fertility as well as protect your gf!!  Make sure herpes is included in that testing too to fully cover the bases. don't assume that if you had something, she would've caught it by now after 3 years together.

your gf might never have been tested for herpes either. while std's are on your mind, make sure you find out if she had that base covered properly.

I'm sorry to bother you Grace but i just need a word from someone...Am i being paranoid and moved by guilty since i never had any symptoms and it was low risk exposures and already 3 years ago?
Since more than 90% of males have symptoms for gonorrhea, and oral gonorrhea is uncommon, it would be even more uncommon to get it this way no?

Thank you so much and again, sorry for bothering you!
