I have contacted my doctor twice today and he refuses my phone calls. I was able to pull my online lab records and the test was called chlamydia/GC Amplification this was in conjunction to my pap. Both were swabs. My husband and I are both 31. I trust my husband. I would think if either of this had this it would have shown up before and I would have had issues becoming pregnant.
I can't tell you how agonizing this is to have your doctor not call you back and leave a message on a Friday night that you have chlamydia and to go get the antibiotics he called in for you.
Assuming your sexual history is accurate, and your husband has not had other partners, your test result must be false. Chlamydia can be carried a long time, but not 7 years.
Some chlamydia tests are more likely than others to give false positive results. Can you learn exactly what test was done? Ask your doctor or the lab whether you had a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) or a DNA probe test; or find the exact name of the test you had. Was it done on urine or a vaginal swab? How old are you and your husband? (Chlamydia becomes very rare after age 25.)
