Negative Swab for herpes, Dry skin months later

Had unprotected sex with a girl at work in Sept. One night about a week later was masterbating with hand cream quite vigerously. woke up the next morning with what looked like blister on the underside of my penis (close to the head) they healed quite fast, and had no other symptoms of Herpes (pain urinating, fever, etc) went in for a swab and urine sample and came back negative. In late Jan. noticed dry skin where the spots once were. Dry skin went away after shower and I applied a little baby cream (figuring i have sensitivity to creams) Any chance that the test was a false negative? or am I worrying WAY too much.

i really appreciate the help, was talking to the co-worker tonight, she informs me that she had gone in for a full physical less than a month ago and was given a clean bill of health. still going to doctor thursday. Much appreciated again!

It still isn't sounding like herpes - it sounds like dry skin or dermatitis or something.

Perhaps you should stop with the internet until you get your results back?

Just make sure to get a type specific IgG blood test, and you'll be good.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but i forgot to mention that ive had the dry skin for about 2 weeks and goes away daily and than comes back. right now im S*****g bricks. Haven't told the g/f about this and haven't had sex since the incident. This is what i get for being an ******* cheater.

I still have no symptoms, but the more I read on here, the more I worry I have a problem. There's a weird tingle where the dry skin is, but only when I start to worry about this... No pain urinating, no fever, shills, lymph swelling etc. I appreciate the advice so far. I just want this to be over with. :(

If you are asking how long it will be before you get the results back, it could be anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.  Every office is different, and it depends on how they receive the results back from the lab, how busy the lab is, etc.  Ask your doctor.

If you are testing for herpes then the conclusive test is 4 months past exposure.

I have an appointment with the doctor again for thursday. How long do the results for the blood work usually take?

You can have a type specific IgG blood test now to find out about herpes, but it sounds like a dry skin or dermatitis issue, and you should let your doctor check it out.

forgot to mention right after lesions appeared i asked the co-worker (who i do trust) and she says she's never had any problems.
