Gonorrhea transmission time

Timeline:  Gonorrhea is contracted, unaware of this, 1 or 2 days later no symptoms have shown and you have unprotected sex with someone else.  Then 3 days later the symptoms show.  Could gonorrhea be passed on during those 2 days immediately after infection that no symptoms were present?

You had asked that I take a look at your questions and I agree with kdaily 100%. The time line for symptoms is 2-5 days on average so both fall into the time window. All I could advise is for your ex to get tested also.

either of these are a risk and could have come from either of these and trying to assess which one you got it from would be impossible as your symptoms appeared days after both encounters.

Thanks for the reply kdaily.....another quick question regarding the same topic,  what would be the most likely cause of the two following scenarios: (1) unprotected vaginal sex with an ex-girlfriend 5 days before symptoms presented OR (2) unprotected oral sex with an escort/prostitute 2/3 days before symptoms presented?  Thanks.

Symptoms do not need to be present to have an STD therefore and STD could be transmitted if you are infected.... at any time during the infection
