Semen smell.

Hello, Last September Out of nowhere I noticed my semen smell changed I can't remember what it use to smell like but now it smells Like a metallic smell and some other smell I can't describe, I've only ever received and gave oral sex and put my peins on the outside of the anus while the person when up and down didn't go it they also did that to me and it didn't go it, I've done a Std test 12 weeks ago all negative but after giving and receiving a bj 4 weeks ago I'm going to get another one it 4 weeks so I weeks from the exposure. I was wondering if my semen smell has something to do with this? Or is it my Diet or something else.

Semen can smell metallic because it has magnesium and calcium in it. It shouldn't be an overwhelming smell, though.

It might also be because of something you are eating or drinking. Try eating something sweet, like fruit.

Are you dehydrated? Increase your water intake (to reasonable levels) and cut down on caffeine and alcohol, and see if that helps.

If it lingers after trying those, or it's an overwhelming odor that partners have noticed, you might need to see a urologist.

I did notice the other day it smelt fainter after consuming high amounts of Fruit and water, But Last year with coivd My diet and health changed I became less active so maybe this also plays a part? If it was in my hand I'd be able to smell it not sure how strong that is? But I'm planning on calling the doctors in October as I'm going to try and consume high amounts of fruit and see what happens hopefully I have nothing seriously wrong with Me I do suffer from bad anxiety.
Okay, don't go overboard with anything. Just eat a balanced diet. You don't need to eat large amounts of fruit, just try to make sure you are eating some.

If you can tie the start of this to when you changed how you ate and when you became less active - and a lot of us went through the same thing with covid - then try just getting back into healthier patterns. Exercise also helps with anxiety.

Don't go overboard, though. And this past year or so has increased anxiety in loads of us. If you aren't in counseling, now would be a great time to do that. :)
