There really isn't any such thing as an invisible wound.
You really are at no risk here. Check out www.ashastd.org for more info.

Sam I think this is going to go on and on until you get tested. So I suggest you get tested and you can find out for yourself if you have it or not. We can talk abotu was to transmit it all day but I think you are not going to be convinced until you have results in hand.
Syphillis is very curable.
A cut is visible,if there is an invisible wound on the skin ,can it transmit syphills? This sounds terrible. But I was educated that would be transmited .Because they believe that there is always invisible wound on the skin. Do you agree? sorry, perhaps I question too many.
Oops I spelled it wrong, didn't I?
Yes, keratinized skin is the thick skin that covers most of our bodies.
And no, you can't get it from a handshake, unless someone has a rash on their hands, and you have a cut on your skin.
Aj
Dear auntiejessi,"keratanized skin" or 'keratinized skin"?I am sorry,I just found the translation of "keratinized skin".
"it takes more than a simple touch of a sore to transmit it. You would need some kind of friction or broken skin for the bacteria to penetrate keratanized skin. "
Thank you ,auntiejessi. Yes,I work with syphills patients, but I was told that even handshakes can transmit it. Usually,I wear my gloves, but this time was an accident. Finally, thank you very much.Your word give me a lot of confidence.
Yes - it takes more than a simple touch of a sore to transmit it. You would need some kind of friction or broken skin for the bacteria to penetrate keratanized skin.
You work with syphilis patients, and you haven't been educated on this stuff?
Just wear your gloves, and you'll be fine.
Aj
yes,it was just vaginal fluids. In addition I would like to know,
"it has to get the bacteria right on the cut,"
"Your hand would have to have DIRECT contact with a sore. "
If the skin of the hands is not broken,is it possible to have syphilis when the hands direct contact with a sore ? In other words,it is not possible to have syphilis when the hands direct contact with a sore, but it is possible when the cut of the hands direct contact with a sore.
Am I right?
No.
First of all, you are wearing gloves at work, right?
Second, it has to get the bacteria right on the cut, and you said it was just vaginal fluids. The bacteria isn't in those fluids.
Your hand would have to have DIRECT contact with a sore.

Dear Vance2335,I read what you said. But I am puzzled.I know that from the MedHep:
"Syphilis is an infectious disease caused by the corkscrew-shaped bacterium (spirochete), Treponema pallidum. This type of bacteria causes infection when it gets into broken skin or mucus membranes, usually of the genitals. "
"Secondary syphilis is one of the few infectious diseases that produces rashes on the palms and soles, as well as a generalized rash."
So,I think, when a sore or rashes come into contact with broken skin, such as the hands of wound.will it be infected with syphills?
It's not a stupid question, no question about STD's is stupid. But read what I said, STD's are only transmitted through sex. Blood does not transfer syphillis, only sex with direct contact with a sore does.
Thanks a lot. But I have another question,if my hand touched a small amount of blood from a syphilis patient. Is it possible for me to have syphilis?I am sorry, perhaps my question is very stupid.
I totally agree - no worries.
Aj
That would be incorrect. STD's can only be transmitted through sex no matter what it is. A hand shake can only transfer things like colds, not STD's. No worried.
It is said that syphilis can be caused by handshake.I am so worry.
Syphillis is passed through actually coming into contact with a sore. And that is only passed through sex. You had zero risk.
