Slight burning

I am a male received unprotected oral sex the other day. It was a brief encounter as I could not become fully erect. I have been erect since then so the issue was nerves. I am 43.
After the encounter, I heavily washed my penis and scrodum with hand sanitizer three times.. It burned badly.  The next day there was redness and irritation to the front of the scrodum as well as the penis.  There too is redness to the opening. There is no discomfort while urinating. At rest, there is slight burning.
I am afraid of std but can they happen that quick? This was within two days of now so is it to soon for testing? The female had no visible lesions, cuts, buries, etc.
I will admit I am suffering greatly from anxiety over this issue. I appreciate any and all help.

Your issue is using hand sanitizer on the senestitive skin of the penis.

This has been a long wait, but the results are good.  The Dr. recommended we run the full pallet just to be sure, know my status and to settle me.  The tests were taken 36 days after the incident and included clamedia, gohneria, syphilis, HIV, herpes, and hepatitis (all certainly mis-spelled).
All tests came back negative. He did not believe it necessary to retest for anything other than HIV in a few months, but only if I desired as he commented the possibility of it with the exposure I described was very unlikely and did not recommend it.
I would like to know your thoughts on testing.
Also, I would like to thank you again for your patience and support with not only myself, but others who come to this site looking for help.  I could not find a place here to donate, but I would like to give back for all you all do.

crotch watching is almost an Olympic caliber sport on this forum....

will gladly help you with any test results once you get them.

I have been working hard on calling off the watch (btw, thanks for the laugh). It has helped.  Because of the great amount of anxiety, I went in for testing and will have results next week.  I have also been on the paid side in which I have been told there is no reason to suspect herpes and that my anxiety issues were 'inappropriate.'  I take this as good news.
I was told that 90% of people will test positive for exposure by the age 80.  My incident was 38 days ago and remains without symptoms.  Furthermore, I have had the same partner for 17 years, with exception of this single incident. Is it possible you can help me understand more about results/etc.?
Thank you again for all you do.

the best thing you can do is call off the crotch watch!! the more you look , the more you notice that isn't worth noticing as well as it further irritates the skin as well as adds to anxiety needlessly. Unless it hurts enough to make you not be able to think of anything else, only look at the lil guy to aim when urinating.

hand sanitizer is almost all alcohol and is incredibly irritating to our delicate genital skin.  It sometimes takes a few weeks until things seem back to normal down yonder.

Not sure how to relax, but will try.  The scrodum issue seems to still be intermittent.  I do now have slight burning just inside the tip. It to is intermittent. It may have never subsided really from the beginning, just hard to remember now in the stress of it all.  I don't really see anything unusual.  In some light, I think I do see a tiny dot, then I retreat to a bright light area and I don't think I see anything.
Funny thing, to examine my penis like never before.  As an airline captain, I am use to having set definite rules, procedures and without questions.
I think testing is a good idea for some peace, but when can that be accurately done?
(Oh yea, cold is gone.  :-)   )

everyone has a cold it seems :(

hsv1 is the risk from receiving oral sex. It tends to present with very obvious and painful symptoms when you contract it. no reason to think you contracted hsv1 genitally from this encounter.

If you've never been tested for herpes before, never a bad idea to seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing at some point to know your status. you and your partners can't make educated decisions about what precautions to take for sex/oral sex until you know who has what. most people don't get tested for herpes with std testing so it's something to specifically ask about.

Sometimes I wonder if I am simply mental over this.  I suppose it is the unknown and lord knows I do have anxiety issues.  I am wondering now if your thoughts have changed...
The last few days I have had a cold.  I am certain it is a cold as I was working closely with a co-worker who had a bad cold.  Two days later....same symptoms.  I have too had a bit of tingling on my scrotum and only on my scrotum.  There are no blisters or lesions. This has been going on for about three days.  When I am busy working with my mind on something else, I don't think I notice it.  Otherwise, I admit, it is constantly on my mind and I am scared. It has been about a month now since the incident.
Does this change any opinion and if not what could tingling be attributed to, even if it simply psychosomatic?
I do appreciate all you people do for all of us. Thank you.

Hi Grace,
You share a name of a family member who is very dear to me.  Grace is one of my all time favorite names.  :-)
It is true I remain symptom free after the 3.5 weeks, but how can I be sure I am herps free when testing cannot be done till say 3 months?
I am feeling better, but just cannot help falling prey to everything I read on the net.  It keeps me checking myself and full of nerves.
Amazing I am struggling so much.

you had no symptoms of herpes to even worry about it at this point.

fyi - washing up after sex just makes you smell better. std's don't sit on the skin to work their way into the body over time.

everything all better now?

Hi there Vance.
My two tests, taken within two days of incident, came back negative.  This was about three and a half weeks ago.  I understand HIV is for all purposes impossible here.  I cannot help but worry about herpes though.  I have no issues in the 3.5 weeks since.  What's the probability and cycle time for it?

Vance2335,
In the event we can help others I will update ya.  I decided to go in to my doctor today.  He was emphatic against hand sanitizer to which now I know.  He did not see any signs of clamadia or gonherra (believe both are misspelled). I took the test anyway and should have the results in a few days, given the holiday.  I feel better having someone having a look. I will update more when I know. He did too suggest the other tests in 3 months but also stated that the other std's were very doubtful.  We would have done those today, however it is to soon.

No Dr's on this forum, you want a Dr then you have to pay in the expert forum.

No reason to keep an eye out for anything.

Thank you again Vance2335. I appreciate your feedback. It helps although I remain anxious. What would I keep an eye out for to be certain al is good?  May I also ask if your a Dr.?  I am sorry for the questions, just simply trying to relax.

Very low risk, see no reason for testing.
Not sure when the sanatizer issue will go away.

Thank you.
For testing, when should I go in?
How long before I get relief from the sanitizer issue.  Was my exposure low or high risk for std?
Sorry for asking, but I am simply a nervous wreck.  I find it difficult to sleep and don't have much of an appetite with all this worry and fear.
