Syphilis from nipple kiss?

Hi!

I met a guy and he sucked/kissed my nipple. No other contact. It did not hurt and I'm pretty sure he did not bite. I really regret it. I have since then read that syphilis indeed can be spred by kissing. Waiting 6 weeks seems unbearable. What do you think, should I stop having sex with my regular partner?

Best regards

Kissing very rarely, if ever, transmits syphilis - that's more of a theoretical risk than a practical one, unless the person has a syphilis sore on their lips.

Kissing or sucking a nipple is highly unlikely to transmit syphilis. First, the nipple isn't a mucus membrane like the mouth or genitals, and unless he had an active syphilis sore on his tongue, he wouldn't transmit it.

Syphilis isn't that common in most developed countries, so this isn't something I'd spend any time worrying about.

I would repeat word for word what AJ said. No need to worry.
Thank you auntijessi and Sillymistake87! I'll try to think of your comments as I wait for 6 weeks to pass so that I can get a test. I'm checking my nipple constantly for a chancre or any other change of appearance. I don't know if the guy had a syphilis sore on his tongue or in his mouth, which makes me really worried. Thanks again for your kind replies!

You don't need to check constantly. The nipple isn't a mucus membrane.

We said, "no need to worry", and we mean that. Syphilis is uncommon.
Thanks again auntiejessi! I'll try to handle my anxiety even though it's hard. Thanks for your help!
