Thoughts and Knowledge and Questions

Hello,

I'm an educated scientist (physics, not infectious diseases) so I trust, rely on, and act on scientific facts from reputable and reliable sources. I consider the sources in this forum to be reputable and reliable. That sword cuts both ways. (The discussion below relates to me, a male, and sex with a female sex worker.)

I have been reading the information here for quite some time, and the conclusion that I have come to, based on the information here, is that unprotected receptive oral sex (felatio) is low risk for the male, and condom protected fellatio is essentially no risk for male (and female). This knowledge actually encouraged me to have riskier behavior. I received condom protected felatio from a female sex worker, I climaxed, and went on about my life without worry. About 2 weeks later, I started receiving condom protected felatio from a different female sex worker. It was working for me, so quickly in my mind, I reviewed all that I learned here that a male receiving unprotected felatio from a female is low risk, so after that quick analysis, I removed my condom, and proceeded to receive unprotected felatio from this female sex worker. It was aggressive, and my penis multiple times banged deep in the back of her throat. So the knowledge here is empowering, but in my case, it led to riskier behavior.

More information before I get to my questions. The second female sex worker, the one I received unprotected felatio from, is one that I plan to develop a relationship with. We plan to both get tested next Wednesday at a reputable clinic. The testing will be "comprehensive" and will cost $1,250 per person. I believe it will involve urine, blood, and visual examinations. This is a reputable clinic, so my guess is that this testing is as good as it gets.

When my parter gets her tests performed, I won't know how recently she had sex with someone else. It could have been the day before, or 3 months before. The clinic will provide same day results, and I am aware that the accuracy of these results depends on how recently the person had sex. Assuming worst case, that she had unprotected sex the day before test test with someone else, but assuming best case that I have sex with her day after the test results:

What are my risks for protected *and* unprotected penis into vagina sex?

What are my risks for performing cunnilingis?

What are my risks for receiving aggressive unprotected felatio?

How can I use regular testing to best effect when having regular sex with a sex worker?

(For what it's worth, this sex worker is "classy", and although I know she has sex clients, I believe she is very selective. She works primarily as a stripper.)

Thank you.

First of all, you don't need to pay over $1000 for testing. What the hell is that??

Second, no one here has ever said that unprotected receptive oral is risk free. You can get gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU, syphilis, genital herpes type 1, and maybe HPV from that. It's LOWER risk than unprotected vaginal or anal, but it's not without risk.

I don't care if your partner is a CSW or not - do not have unprotected sex with someone who's history you do not know unless you know for sure they are monogamous for all window periods and have tested negative for everything. If she's having unprotected anything with you, is she with others?

And a relationship with a CSW is a risk. Have you talked about that? Who employs her? Is there a pimp? Is she an addict? Does she have kids? I'm not saying she isn't a wonderful woman, but there is a lot going on there.

If she can't be honest with you about her last date of sex, what are you even doing here? Is she going to continue her work?

"Classy" means nothing. I have herpes and I'm "classy". I'm also VERY selective about sex partners, and am not a sex worker. I have no judgement about sex workers, and think they should get paid a whole lot more than they do, get benefits and probably unionize. They work in unsafe conditions and no one really treats them well enough. They are good enough for so many of you who post here to pay to have sex with at night, and the next day, panic here thinking they have 100 different infections. I have a lot of compassion for them.

If you are in a relationship with anyone, you need to have an honest discussion about risks and sex. That's true of someone you meet in a bar, at work, or a sex worker.

Sounds like you kind of went off on me.  But I got the message. No unprotected sex. I always get the information I need here. Can you kindly advise about the comparative risk of a male performing oral sex on a female?
I didn't mean to go off on you - sorry for that. But seriously - don't pay that much for testing, ever.

Get the Complete 8 and the Herpes test. Under $400.

If you're both from the US, you've probably been vaccinated for hep B, and hep C is almost never transmitted sexually, so you don't need that unless either of you are or have been injection drug users.

You can also google for promo codes.

Oral sex on a woman is very low risk. If she has hsv2, there is a chance you could get that orally, but that's uncommon. If she has HPV, you could get that orally, too.

You can get an HPV vaccine, depending on your age/location, from your doctor or Planned Parenthood.

A note on the herpes testing - there are all kinds of issues with it. It misses 30% of hsv1 infections, and gives all kinds of false positives on the hsv2 test. We can cross that bridge if you get a positive.
