Could I get an STD

Hi,

Yesterday I made the biggest mistake of my life. I got drunk and went to a sex worker. She gave me oral without condom and then I gave her oral too... it lasted for like 30 secondsthen I realized what I have done and practically ran away... my question is could I get an std? I am mostly worried about Herpes... the other question is what is the earliest time I can get myself checked out. I am literally freaking out now so please help... many thanks

Oral sex exposes you to gonorrhea, herpes and syphilis, but the general risk is really low.

You can test as follows:

-Herpes, 3 months after the encounter.
-Gonorrhea, 3 weeks after the exposure.
-Syphilis, most people test positive between 3 and 6 weeks after the encounter (in case there is infection) but some people take longer (until 3 months).

All the best.

Thank you very much for your answer. In the meantime during the 3 month peroid i guess it is not recommended to have sexual intercourse. And also if i got any of the diseases after how much time will i experience the first symptoms?
If you have other sexual encounters, your test won't be accurate. Sometimes stds don't show any symptom at all, that's the reason why is interesting to test after having sexual encounters with people we don't know.
