What is squamous papilloma and is it contagious? Is it really related to HPV?

My ex was diagnosed with benign squamous papilloma. The pathology report from the biopsy says it not related to HPV. I have read that the squamous papilloma is not contagious but that its related to HPV. My ex got them around the anal area. I also got checked with gynicologist and said there was no sign of any warts for me. Are there HPV strains that are not contagious? I do not understand the diagnosis my ex received.

The diagnosis says, "changes such as these may be seen in condyloma acuminatum and fibroepithelial papilloma not associated with human papilloma virus."
