Worried, help please.

Hello,

I am male 39. Several weeks ago i received unprotected oral sex from someone shorlty after they had done the same on someone else. It only lasted for less than a minute and i also never ejaculated and neither did the other person who had it done to them before me
.
About a week later i started to need to pee more and it was also harder to pee. Slight ache to the testicles also. No discharge at all. I went to a local GUM clinic here in the UK where i was tested for Chlamidiya and Gonnorea. I had swabs done and they took urine. I informed them that i had been taking Cipro for 3 weeks as i am already under the care of a urologist for Urinary/prostate problems and have been for several years. They said they could still do the tests and that the swabs would be more accurate regardless of the antibiotics that i was on.

A week later i called and my results where normal. I still did not feel good so went to my local GP and he sent my urine for a DNA test for Chlamidiya.  He assured me that the DNA test would be accurate regardless of the antibiotics i had taken recently. He gave me a weeks course of Doxycycline as a precaution. My tests came back normal. After taking the Doxy for a week i felt a lot better but when i stopped the symptoms returned. I went back to my GP after been on no antibiotics at all for a week. He tested my urine again (DNA test) it was all normal again but due to my history of prostatitis type problems gave me an extended course of Doxy. Now i am feeling slightly better and masturbation seems to help relieve my symptoms.

However i am very stressed that i have actually caught something and could pass this on to my partner. I am not sleeping very well at all and that is adding to the stress and anxiousness i am feeling. I feel very guilty for doing this while with my partner and am terrified they find out or i have passed something on to them.

Can i rely on the tests i have had done? Ie the accuracy while i have been on antibiotics? My GP assures me i can but i am very worried.

I am desperate for some help.Please.

I have spoken to the clinic where I was tested. They assure me that even though I was on antibiotics the tests are very reliable as they can inform the people in the lab that I was on antibiotics so they still know what to still look for. I am wondering if the doxy is actually not helping and possibly making me feel worse. I have a right bad sore throat and I feel as though they make my whole bladder/waterworks system overly sensitive to the point where I feel the need to pee. My balls are still aching though. But they don't hurt if they are touched or examined. Off back to see my gp on Friday so will try and see how I gp with no pills til then.
Much more than I normally would.

I meant to say also that when I masturbate and ejaculate my symptoms appear to improve for a day or two but then just go back to how they were beforehand.

I totally see your point re chlamidiya. But if I was taking cipro and had resistant gonnorea would this show ip in a swab or urine test? This is what worries me the most? I read that some men will only have painful balls as the only symptom of gonnorea? What is the alternative antibiotic to cipro for gonnorea. Thanks again.

your symptoms don't appear to be due to gonorrhea.

if you still have symptoms, be seen and get follow up from your provider.

What if I has gonnorea that was resistant to cipro? I am guessing my symptoms would have got worse by now?  I have had similar problems in the past but had a bladder op and have been pretty good for 18 months. It's just since this incident I feel lousy. Could it really all be guilt and stress related? I wondered if maybe had prostatitis? Not sure what to do next.

the point is moot - you treated for gonorrhea and chlamydia so even if you had had them, they are gone. make sense?  no need for further testing for either of them.  aching balls is not a std symptom. you can have epididymitis but your symptoms don't even sound like that at this point.

you have a history of urinary issues and you said previously that nothing going on is different from what you've experienced in the  past from them. is this still true?

Thanks again for your kind reply. The thing is that I still don't feel too good. Aching balls. Sometimes more frequent peeing. Difficult to have an erection. It has been nearly five weeks since the incident. I wish I could get a definate answer about the reliabilty of the tests while on antibiotics. My doc says they would make no difference to te DNA test. But Reading on the net says that antiotics should be avoided prior to a DNA test for chlamidiya. Also if I had gonnorea wouldn't j have noticed more severe symptoms by now. I have no discharge no burning when peeing. Should Iaybe get some antbiotics for Gomorrah that are nor resistant to be sure. Finally if I had a urine test after been off antibiotics for a week would this show up any infection reliably?  Thanks again. I know I am probably starting to annoy you with these questions but I feel so bad for what happened and I just want to feel ok again and get on with my life.

it was oral sex so the odds that you contracted anything was low anyways.

cipro does still sometimes take care of gonorrhea but it's become resistant to it in most places.  the doxy took care of anything else.  your bases are covered regardless of the testing you  had done.

Can anyone confirm that the tests I had will still be reliable? Please I am at the end of my tether with worry over this.

Thanks for the reply

I do realise that ejaculation isn't connected with risk. I was mainly concerned that what my doctor said about the DNA tests being accurate regardless of any antibiotics i had been taking. Could the antibiotics have given a false negative? My doc is adamant that the antibiotics make no difference to the test.

ejaculation has nothing to do with risk.

you are already covering your bases which is the best thing to do.   it's not likely you contracted a std that you can pass on to your partner. don't confuse guilt with risk from this really low risk encounter.
