Could I have an STD?

I am a 17 year old healthy male,  I have only been sexual active with my last girlfriend about 3 to 4 months ago.  I havn't had any signs or symptoms of an STD besides I had a UTI about 3 weeks ago that lasted only a few days.  Now since it's been 3 to 4 months, i still wonder if its possible she gave me a STD and my body cleared it?  My main question is: how long after you come in contact with a person that has an STD, will you see the Signs or symptoms?  Another reason i ask is because, a few people have told me that she has an STD, but i havent seen anything so i dont know.  Please help me if you know anything, thanks!

UTI is not an std.  If you get symptoms of std's, they do not go away so quickly and not usually on their own.  So, it is my opinion that it was a UTI and not something with similar symptoms.  Yes, it is a great idea to get tested so you and your girlfriend know your status.

Also, how do the people know she has an std? 99% of rumors turn out to be false.  So, you need to discuss this with her and no one else.  You are almost an adult and it will do you a world of good to take the advice and stay away from the gossip mills.

Are you using protection? If not, you should. Not only to protect yourself, but to protect her since you've previously had a UTI. Bodies don't usually "clear" and/or cure STD's without medication. Usually if you have an STD (besides HIV) you will show some form of a symptom around or near the area of infection. You're most likely fine. But to get the stress of your mind please use protection and get tested.
