is it herpes...?

I have been dating my GF for a year now and we have unprotected sex.   Three days ago, I went to the bathroom and noticed red "spots" (not raised) in my pubic area, near the base of my penis and on the shaft of my penis.  The majority of these "spots" are on the base of my penis. They do NOT itch or burn. I have no dishcarge, no pain, nothing other than these spots. It has been almost  3 days since i noticed them, and this morning it appeared that some of them had formed "whiteheads".  I went to the Dr. and I am awaiting my test results (Dr. said it looked like herpes). I'm confused because my symptoms don't seem like what I am reading about herpes.  I found pictures of "balanitis" and that looks more like what i have..NO blisters like herpes....

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but my GF also just had a UTI and they also gave her meds for a yeast infection.???  can anyone help?

Well, if she doesn't have herpes, and you've been dating her for a year, and you both tested negative, this can't be herpes.

Congrats.

Has your gf been tested for herpes?  She might want to get a type specific IgG blood test, and if its positive, you should test again in a few months to make sure you don't have a new infection.

I'd say yeast or folliculitis.  I'd be surprised it this is herpes.

Balanitis is a fungal infection on the head of your penis, usually found in uncircumcised men, but yeast can look a lot like it.
