Grace, test result question

Wow.  I just received a IgG result of 4.2 for type 2.  I just took this test as a precaution, my only exposure was 3 months ago and i have had no signs.  I'm a male and this exposure was very brief vaginal sex where the condom fell off at some point.  Is it possible i don't have herpes, like a false positive?  Please help with a response.

the only test i have had in the past was 2 days after this possible exposure, it was for herpes 1, 2 IgM which was <o.91.  I have heard these test are useless, is it possible i have had herpes for an extended period of time and never had any outbreaks?  If so does this mean it would be harder to transmit to a partner?

Condoms do not prevent transmission of genital herpes 100%.  Unless this was the only time you've ever had sex - there's no way to tell how long you've been infected.  Have you ever had a herpes blood test before?

A 4.1 result is over the range of false positives so it's not likely to be one :(

was your type 1 positive? type 2 positives between 1.0-3.5 are sometimes false when one has hsv-1.... however your number is higher so i would say that it is indeed a true positive...
