Could it be and STD?

I was stupid enough to fall into the affair trap.  It has been over for about six months.  But last month just before my period I notice that the lymph nodes in my throat were getting swollen just before my menstrual cycle and again this month the same thing happened.  I have made a doctor's appt. to be tested but it is not for another ten days.  So I was just wondering if you think it could be an STD.  I haven' t had any burning with the urination.  Can you please help?!

Yes, and that might be why I'm not married.  ;)

But in any case, I agree with Waring.

Without genital symptoms, I'd say it's unrelated to anything you did 6 months ago. But get it checked if you keep worrying about it or they don't subside.

I wouldn't feel badly about stepping out on your partner. Welcome to the majority! I just read recently that upwards of 70% of couples have at least one partner who has played around. Infidelity is now the norm in marriages, not the exception.
