PLEASE HELP!

I'm 17 years old and have just started having sex, me and my partner have had unprotected sex and i'm terrified he may have had an std and gave it to me. like a week after we started having sex i started having extreme chest pains(on christmas eve) and went to the hospital and the doctor found white spots on the back of my throat and told me it was possible i have oral thrush (like a yeast infection in my throat) and took a swab and i'm waiting for the results back still, but was given medication and it seems to be working. he said that you usually get oral thrush when you have a low immune system and he said something about hiv, and i'm wondering if my partner had slept with someone with a yeast infection and then i gave him oral if i could have gotten it that way? or if thats possible?
i'm terrified that i may have hiv or some other std plase help!

No, you need to ask for std testing.  Make sure to let the doctor know what kind of sexual activity you've had so they know the right tests to run.  You don't have to get graphic - just say oral sex, intercourse, etc.

I was in the same position as you 10 years ago, thinking that no condoms are not necessary. I got lucky and never got anyting but after finding out more info found out that I was lucky and dumb.

The pill does nothing against STD's, you need to use a condom unless you and the other person get tested and show no STD's.

chest pain is not a symptom of a std.

Did they also test you for strep throat too?

I certainly wouldn't worry that you have hiv - you wouldn't start getting that sick that fast if you had gotten it.

If you are concerned about your partner and std's, then both of you can go to the local clinic and get tested for std's to see who has what.  If you don't have insurance, find out where your closest public health std clinic is or planned parenthood can also do the testing.  Also if you aren't aware of your partner's std status, it's a good idea to have protected sex and protected oral sex only. Are you also covering pregnancy?
