engorged scrotum

I have recently met a guy who I was sexually active with, after the act we showered together and he became aroused again. His whole groin region became swollen and engorged. I asked what caused this he said he was having prostrate problems. I have not seen him since but fear I may have picked up an std from him. I have had the feeling of an impending irinary tract infection ever since but a course of antibiotics has not seemed to have made too much of a difference. I also noticed he was having trouble with a full flow of urine (spluttering) please help

If you aren't better after finishing the antibiotic, return to your doctor.  If you have to, wait 2 weeks and then do std testing.

If you get any different symptoms, like sores, discharge, fever, etc., return to your doctor promptly.

I also thought that at the time, however the symptoms I have been having, seem to indicate something might be amiss. As I said, I felt maybe 2 days later that I was getting a UTI and it progressed rapidly into burning upon urination, raw gut feeling, sore and aching muscles, lethargy. At the time I put it down to flu and urinary tract infection. The doctor prescribed antibiotics for UTI. I had no reason to believe or suspect at the time that it may have been something more sinister and as such was not thinking std at all. The burning upon urination has subsided but there is still a sort of hollow scratchy feeling (hard to explain sorry LOL)when urinating also I still have the aches and pains but not as bad, unless i have just worked through it and become used to just feeling horrible.

That sounds like prostate, but if you had unprotected sex with him, you might test for stds just to be on the safe side.

What antibiotics did you take, and were they prescribed to you?  You will have to wait 2 weeks following the last pill you took for your std tests to be accurate.
