STD Testing and Centres

Hello,

Could someone please answer these:

1. What is the best method to test for a definite result for the below STDs. Also, do we need to follow some guideline before giving a test sample - like not urinating 1 hour before the sample draw or something like that:
--> Syphilis - Blood?
--> Gonorrohea - Urine?
--> Chlamydia - Urine?
--> HIV - Blood?
--> Herpes - Blood?
--> Hepatitis - Blood?

2. Please let know if there are any other common and easily spread STD tests to be done?
3. Do we have a swab test for men for these STDs - if so for which all and what is the accuracy?
4. Is it reliable to use online providers like tStd.Org or StdWeb.com etc for STD testing?
5. How about using Planned Parenthood? Do they do swab testing or the regular Blood/Urine testing?
6. Isn't there a test for HPV in men?

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "a guy caught your penis"?

Before u read my below post, I want to let you guys know that I have never ever (and will never ever other than wit ma wife) had any anal/oral/vaginal sex with a man/woman. PERIOD.

Here is the thing:
1. A guy caught my penis 2 1/2 years ago in a night club restroom. I was struck as if by lightning. I had to wait an hour so or before I cud get home and wash myself wit soap and water. After 2/3 weeks, I had a small white/pink pimple on my shaft skin which went off on its own. I have been freaking out since then. Went to one urologist 5 times. First visit, told him I had seminal fluid touch my penis (which had actually happened on a separate instance) from a toilet seat, he didn't test me for nothing rather gave 1/2 weeks of doxycycline. Second visit, I was so scared to death that I lied to him - saying I had a hand job from a strip club and what if the gal gave a hand job to some guy just before me and then to me. What if she still had genital fluid of that guy or even hers in her palms when she gave me mine. He still told me no risk of any STDs whatsoever and refused to test. For my own relief in the 3rd visit, he offered to do a cystoscopy to check any bladder infections. Nothing. Finally, he told me I need to put this aside, get hooked up with a nice girl, have children and get along in life. He asked me to go and get a second reference if required cos as far as he is concerned, I am fine. So, I stopped going to him cos I realized he is not going to test me for any STDs anymore.

2. Went online (with both tstd.org and stdweb.com) and did full testing - Syp/Gon/Chlamydia/HIV/HSV 1 and 2/ Herpes after 8 months and 18 months respy. All results came negative. That's why I asked you guys if they are trustworthy. I sincerely hope they are. Both times I gave initial stream urine...and blood for others...Should it have been the first urine of the day?

3. Then came Mr. HPV into my mind from all these online posts. I have freaked out even more. I don want this accident to cause any cancer and ruin my life...

4. I have always been a heatlhy guy with lots of activities but nowadays have lost interest in everything and jus think of that incident 2 years ago. I have kinda strange feelings nowadays and everything I find odd, I relate to that accident that occured to me that fateful nite. My back ache, the pimples on my back, constipation, the occasional itch inside my urethral opening towards the tip of the penis or the smegma that gets set on my penis head (probably cos of the dryness down there) towards the end of the day etc. I took abdomen scans, regular blood, urine tests 2 months ago...all looks fine to the docs.  none of the doctors are helping me either...if i tell my experience, i know they end up looking at me with a pre-notion that it is all in my mind. I read all posts here and everything says hand - genital contact can cause no STDs. I hope all of them are true.

5. 4 weeks ago, I started to feel a pain in my right testicles/groin area. I have taken a  2nd appt with my second urologist (to whom i didn't mention about the incident to avoid pre-notions but he told me I had balanitis and gave me nystatin...which i have been using for some time now and i donno what i shud say about the result....i still feel all awkward) next week as well as with a new dermatologist...to check my genitals ....my skin is extremely dry throughtout my body and probably that is the reason for the tingling (as well as smegma) on my penis forehead. I also have scheduled an annual exam. So, I will get three different docs to check me up. I wonder if I shud tell these guys about the incident after all...cos i don want them to have pre-notions.

6. Or should I be testing for STDs in a local health dept testing clinic - do you know if they test it on their own labs or with labcorp and quest. also, can you tell me one place where i can get swab testing done for gono/chlamy/syphlis/hiv - cos someone told me that is more accurate. shud i be testing for hsv or any others...please advise. will health dept do this or do they also do only blood and urine? please help...

7.  I recently got engaged  - I wanted to, but couldn't tell this incident to ma fiancee (actually I didn't know how to tell her)...I feel I cheated her and feel dead guilty. She is the most beautiful person I have ever met till date...I hope nothing happens to her cos of me or nothing happens to me cos I don wanna lose her...

Maybe a drastic measure - but I have ever since refrained from using unenclosed restrooms or use public toilets without properly covering my penis wit enuf of tissue paper. By now, you guys must be thinking that I am yet another guy who needs nothing but pure counselling. I wouldn't blame you or feel bad about that. Its jus that I don want to hurt my fiancee and give her the shock of her life...

If possible, please answer my questions listed within this post. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

trich is rare in males. they typically don't even test for in males.

inital stream is usually ok for std testing.

Thanks a lot my friend.
1. You mentioned Trich is difficult to be discovered in men. What are its complications?
2. When giving Urine Sample, should it be the Initial Stream or Middle Stream that needs to be collected?

1. Syphilis...blood, gonorrhea...urine or swab, chlymida-urine or swab, HIV-blood, herpes-blood, Hep-not sure. At least  hour since last urination but better to be the 1st urine of the day or wait 3hrs before last urine.

2. These are bascially it...there is also Trich, HPV and NGU but Trich is difficult to discover in men, HPV no test for in men, and NGU you would get a swab only if symptoms (discharge).

3. As I stated above which ones were able to be swabed and just as good as a urine test.

4. Yes it is. They are really just a middle man between you and the lab. Any lab that samples are given to has guidelines that have to be followed.

5. No sure on there methods, but I have not heard great stories about them. If you live in America then local health depts do free testing, so you might want to give them a call.

6. No, just a visual inspection and if something is suspected to be HPV then a biopsy can be done, but no test like in women because it has no really bad affects on men like it does on women.

Also testing timessince exposure...Gonorrhea and chlymida-1 week, syphilis-6 weeks, herpes-4 months, HIV-3 months.

Did you have a recent exposure? If so what was it I might be able to give you more insight.
