Tested Positive for HSV2

I recently went to the gyno becuase I my vagina felt "different" nothing extreme or burning, itching etc... a little red and moreso in one area.  I asked her to test me FOR EVERYTHING!   I was immediately diagnosed with a yeast infection (which was my very first experience with it) and took some Monistat 7 and was good to go.  A week later (today) I called for all my other results and tested negative for everything including all the swaps for HSV2.  However, my blood test was positive for HSV2.  I asked what this meant she said "that I have had exposure".  I have NEVER had any visual symptoms or any others that I know of.  This makes me nuts...what am I supposed to look for?  Have I never had a break out?? Am I waiting for my first, am I a carrier (is that EVEN possible)?!?!?!

Im sooo confused, what is my next step???

HSV *****.

The fact that is not a regular test they perform at your annual check up is insane due to how "common" it is and the fact that sooo many people have it and are asymtomatic.

This should be a standard test if you are sexually active just for the simple fact that there are sometimes, no symptoms!!

Rather then say things like its so common and no big deal....ahmm...open sores on your genitals that you pass along to unsuspecting, trusting people.

That's just so wrong.

Everyone should be tested.  Just as with HIV.  Everyone should at least be informed by their doctors at their visits/checkups that you can have HSV and have no symptoms.  Get everyone educated rather then spread the VIRUS!

Thanks for your response.  I think im going to wait it out for a few months and if I still show no signs I am going to retest.  I know its a slim chance since my Igg was a 4.76 but its hard for me to believe it witout feeling or seeing symptoms. :(

If you have HSV2 then yes your a carrier and can pass it at anytime with or without having an outbreak. I don't want to mislead you in any way so maybe grace can give you more info. I only know about my body and how it reacts.
