mattresses in swingers club

My wife and me want to go in a swingers club, in order to have sex together in front of other people. In the club where we plan to go there are no sheets on the mattresses : people can use a towel to protect the mattress. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. So we don't know how clean the mattresses are.... Is it possible to contract an std or other disease if my wife and I lay down on one of those mattresses and have sex? I mean probably not hiv but what about herpes, syphilis, hpv... ?

The only thing you could get from a mattress is scabies, which is very uncommon now, or bed bugs, which isn't an STI but is more common. You could possibly also get norovirus, staph, e. coli, and maybe MRSA.

Before going, find out how clean the mattress are. Find out what kind of sanitation they do, how often they switch out mattress, etc. That should be basic info they can and will tell you.

Hi auntiejessi ! Thanks for your answer, we'll ask them. Can you confirm that the rational for your answer is that if people put some "fluid" on the mattress a few minutes before us, and if we put some of it on our hands or genitals, this can't contaminate us because it waited too long outside a human body, right ? Same for Syphilis if someone rubs a chancre on the mattress ? Thanks for your help !
Yes, STIs don't live outside the body as long as things like staph, etc.

Also, some STIs, like herpes, syphilis and HPV, need actual direct skin to skin contact to transmit - think kissing, oral, vaginal and anal sex. Others require penetration, like HIV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea.

If I went to a place that had bare mattresses, I'd be way more concerned about bed bugs, which are so, so hard to get rid of, than most anything else. Although MRSA isn't any fun, either. E. coli, norovirus and the others will make you very sick, but most healthy people will get better in a short time.
