All, just wanted to update, I have had another similar bump show up 17 days ago, in a different region of the penis head but close to the others.
As I said, it has lasted for 17 days and after about a week had gotten shrunk a bit but otherwise has remained the same. I plan to talk to my dermatologist about again in 2 weeks when we have a previously scheduled appointment but am unsure what to do. I am fairly certain he will dismiss it as nothing again but it is disconcerting to me.
This will be the 4th bump i have noticed that has acted in this manner in the last 8 months:
it is still a:
Single solid redish to skin colored bump not blister like
no pus or liquid comes out when i squeeze
no open wound or lesion, and no scab ever forms.
it will probably disappear in a week or two if it follows pattern, there for taking almost a month go away
no pain and never appears in the same exact place
any thoughts for me?
Reread what I posted. We can't guess what bumps are.
The reason i am posting in the STD forum is it seems like it is the most likely cause. but the doctor and you guys have all been pretty much all concluding it is not herpes.
I have noticed another much smaller reddish bump about 2-3mm away from this new one. any thoughts?
thanks
Try the dermatology forum or get tested for herpes if concerned. Nothing we can really help you with.
One more thing, in the past 4-5 months, I believe this is the 3-4 bump i have noticed that has acted in this manner, though its always one bump. never more than one.
Hello all, I am posting this as a follow up, I have another bump that seems to have shown up in the past day or two. It makes me worry about reoccurring genital herpes again.
It is again:
-painless
-does not seem to have any liquid inside of it
-so far has not erupted and/or crusted
I have shown these individual bumps to my dermatologist on 2 separate occasions and he has dismissed them as cysts or something else but had ruled out herpes. I am still at a loss as to why this is occurring, but have been dealing with severe itchy skin and my dermatologist told me I have potentially eczema. Could eczema somehow cause these sorts of issues?
The bumps have sort of begun since I have had this severe itching, though the bumps themselves do not seem to itch.I am very concerned about getting herpes and my dermatologist thinks I may be a hypochondriac, but bumps on the penis is pretty scary. :)
any advice would be great.
thanks!
the provider already told you what it was. why doubt what you were told?
*sorry I meant no whitehead on the bump.
Hi grace, I wanted to give you an update.
I went to see a dermatologist and he examined the bump and checked my lymph nodes near my groin. He said it is not herpes and also crossed off scabies since it does not itch. I am not currently in the US so I was speaking to a doctor whose English was not so good, he said it seemed to be some sort of cyst like thing or something. But I was not clear on what else it could be. He also told me it would be ok to have sex with my girlfriend while wearing a condom.
As far as the bump, it looks the same basically, maybe alittle less swollen and its been about 17 days. It has not formed into other bumps or popped and crusted at all.
I am reading that herpes outbreak would usually resolve within 2-3, so I can effectively scratch off herpes?
Also, if herpes is not an option, what else could explain it? It does not seem to be a pimple as there is so whitehead or anything.
I am very confused and worried.
thank you grace!
is there any other reading i can do on what other factors could cause something like that?
I would like to know prior to going to see a doctor.
this doesn't sound at all like genital herpes going on.
go and be seen and get a proper exam so you can stop worrying. many things can cause these symptoms, most of which are not std related. abstain from sex until you know what is going on to err on the side of caution.
grace
anything i can do in the meantime to help solve this situation?
auntijessi/grace?
You would have to see a Dr because with bumps they can be many things and we can't even begin to guess what they might be.
