What is causing this itching? STD or something else

About a week ago I started having this awful itching in my genital area. At first I thought it was a yeast infection but I have had yeast infections before and they never itched this bad. I have herpes but the itching from that is usally in one location, plus I have medication for that. Whatever is causing this, is making me itch everywhere down there.

I finally made an appointment on Friday. The Dr. said it was a yeast infection and prescribed me with diflucan but the itching hasn't gone away. I thought diflucan was supposed to alleviate the symptoms by now.

I was diagnosed with HPV/Genital warts almost 10 yrs ago. The doctor burned them off and I have never had a problem since then. I have read that HPV doesn't go away but I had been tested since and it came back negative every time. I was thinking that for some strange reason, after 10 yrs, the warts came back. I remember them itching like crazy. The only thing is I don't have any bumps that werent there before and the Dr. said she didn't see anything abnormal. What could this be? Any ideas?

Well thank you for your help. I called the Dr. today and she prescribed me Lotramin. Hopefully that helps. I can't stand this much longer....it's awful.

No 1 yr is not new...was thinking like 1 week or 2 weeks max. This does not really seem to be a STD. Best advice I can give is if symptom does not go away in a couple of more days follow up with Dr or maybe see a dermotologist.

Well we have been together for a year and yes of course we have sex. I don't consider a year to be new but we have had unprotected sex.
