Opinion Please

Good afternoon, Doctor. I am writing regarding some lesions that have recently appeared on me. I had unprotected vaginal sex about 4-5 weeks ago with a woman, much against my better judgment. A few days ago, lesions started to appear on the right side of my body, slightly above the waist. They have also appeared on the left side, in the same general area. This morning I noticed a few on the underside of my scrotum as well. I have not had any appear on my penis yet, however.  The ones on the right side did in fact itch at first, however they have since stopped and none other of the lesions seem to be itching at this time. They are all very small, the biggest ones resembling a zit without a head on it. I have not yet been tested for an STD, but I am scheduled to do so in a few days time. Basically, I am just wanting to know ahead of time how likely it is that I have contracted herpes, or any other form of STD. Thanks so much for your help!

Getting in on this a little late I guess.  Glad to hear you had good results from your Dr visit.  I'm just curious about why you said that the sex you had with this woman was "much against your better judgement."  Were you coerced? Seduced? If it was against your better judgement ....why did you continue?  Men have the option to say no too you know?

Update: Got my test results back today, turned out Im completely clean. :) The red bumps were in fact a viral infection, just not of the herpes sort. Thanks to you both for taking the time to answer my questions, and God bless!

You can get hives from a many things, could simply be an allergic reaction to food, medicine, or be the result of a sting as you pointed out.  My thoughts are with you and I hope it is only hives and not herpes.  Either way, get tested on Monday.

Many thanks to you, Grace! Unfortunately, my Doctor is not available to see me until this coming Monday, so I suppose I will have to wait it out. Update- as of this morning, quite a few of the red spots seem to be shrinking, but have not completely gine away yet. This is either the 4th or 5th day that I have noticed them. Looking through many pictures online, they seem to most closely resemble hives, but I do not remember getting stung by a bee or anything else that could have caused it. Again, thank you for your information, and I fully intend to post my outcome as soon as I have it.

If you suspect herpes you need to be seen sooner rather than later.  I recommend you try to be seen by your doctor today. If they suspect herpes - the longer you wait, the less likely you are to get an accurate lesion culture ( high rate of false positives especially after 48 hours of the appearance of symptoms ) and it will just potentially prolong how long it takes to find out if you have herpes or not.

this could be many things from a bacterial infection to even just a contact dermatitis.  Go be seen and find out what it is so you can stop worrying.

Thanks for getting back to me. Any thoughts as to what it may be? Ive been reading up on various STD's for the better part of the day, and am not sure as to what I might have. Is it true that generally herpes will appear where it enters the body? If that is the case, would the fact that it is appearing mostly on either side of my stomach indicate that it is something else? Also, I have not had any of the other symptoms described in a lot of the reports Ive read, such as discharge, or puss coming out of the lesions. They are basically just very small, red and itchy at times.  Thank you again for all of your help, Im just really trying to get a handle on what I could potentially have, in an effort to kind of mentally prepare myself for it.

You posted in the public forum, not the DR. section (that fills up quick every day).  Sorry to say this, but it sounds like you have something...the DR. will verify what it is.  Hopefully it isn't anything too bad.  My thoughts are with you.
