Discharge

I have a very slight amount of clear discharge coming from my urethra. I first noticed these symptoms about 3 days ago and due to work I haven't been able to get to the doctor. Finally did some reading up about the condition and it can be a list of things that is causing it.

I have no other symptoms such as pain when urinating or frequent need to urinate.

The worrying part for me is that it says symptoms usually start within the first 30 days for a STD. I have been with my partner for the last 2 years 8 months and since I've been with her I have never strayed. I know it is always possible for your partner to stray so obviously we cannot rule this out but especially in the last 30-60 days we haven't been away from each other due to the renovation of our newly purchased house.

I was diagnosed with HSV2 about 7 years ago but since then I haven't had any problems with this since.

I've been doing alot of reading online and it is making me panic as it says symptoms usually start within 30 days of first sexual contact with someone who has an Infection such as Chlamydia. I know how this will look to my girlfriend as if the roles were reversed I'd probably assume the worst aswell.

So based on this I have a couple of questions:
a) Is it possible that I have harboured an STD from someone before my girlfriend (over 2 years ago) and I am now just starting to show symptoms?

b) Is it possible that my girlfriend harboured an STD from someone before me and this is what is causing the problems (even though symptoms are showing so late into the relationship).

Nope.  Sounds like it could very well be from the HSV2.  Discharge in the others may have a slight odor.

Thanks 2terrified for the answers.

Does the discharge have an odour on all of the above cases?

What I have is very thin and watery and is totally odourless

But wait...you have HSV2.   Herpes can release a clear, watery discharge.  That may be your only indication of an active outbreak.

No for both.  Both of you would have shown more severe symptoms if you an std (other than herpes) within the 2 year time frame.  The longest it has been heard of for a person to go asymptomatic is a year and a half.  It may not be an std.  Try to get to a doctor for testing to make sure.
