there can be false positives which is why they do confirmatory testing.
if she's donated blood in the past and never tested + and neither of you have had other partners in the last few months, you know it really was a false positive and nothing to worry about.

Yup. She has donated blood quite frequently- she donated 2 months ago and was recently called and informed they used her blood- We have been married 4 years and are faithful- my last partner was over 7 years ago and it was a one time thing and I used a condom- same- same with my wife- the first and only other partner she had was a virgin and it was her first time also and it was one of those things where it was only in for a few seconds. After researching I saw that certain things can cause a false positive- one being Epstein Barr- my wife did have a bad case of mono in 2005 and I know that virus always stays in your system. Neither of us have ever had any symptoms of syphilis- no rash, no chancres ect. Thanks for the answers- just gave us a little worry since it really came out of nowhere- I guess they do two tests- and the confirmatory test said it was non reactive...
