Accidentally ate after taking a doxycycline dose.

I am currently on a 10 day regimen of two 100 gram doses of doxycycline for urethritis caused by as of yet unspecified condition. Unfortunately once I got home I took the first dose at 5 PM. Some friends came over shortly after wards and I caught myself having a handful or two of corn chips before it was even 5:45. I know you aren't supposed to eat anything for 2 hours after taking the medication and have since made it a point to stick to the regime. My question is how detrimental could have eating after the first dose have been? Have I destroyed the ability of the doxycycline regime to clean house and possibly allowed to gain resistance? Or am I largely overworrying?

If I have screwed it up, what should I do? Should I contact the doctor and inform her what has happened and request one extra dose?

Thank you for responding. God Bless.
