Again with feeling!

I am looking for more information on recent studies of hpv virus relational to Iga deficient subjects.

Its a long story, but I have hpv, and I recently found out the girl I have been dating has an Iga immune deficiency.  We are going to see a doc asap, but just trying to do my homework on the subject so I can have the right questions to ask.

This is the second posting of this question, if I am in the wrong forum or my questions/comments are otherwise inapropriate I would like to know.

Thanks for any help!

The same type of hpv coming back after being gone for 10 months would be very unusual.

The cut off age for the hpv vaccine is 26 at this point but your gf can try contacting her insurance to get approval for it.  Worth a shot at least. She can also check out www.clinicaltrials.gov to see if any of the studies for the vaccines in "older" women are being done near her ( I say older as in over the cutt off age - 28 isn't the least bit old!!! )

The main thing to remember is - your hpv is just a cosmetic concern - not a health risk. Worst case scenerio is that you are one of the 10% who doesn't clear your hpv infection on your own and you end up transmitting it to her. Sure no one wants to deal with wart removal but they aren't that big of a deal. They aren't the most exciting thing in the world to look at and a pain in the rear to get them removed but they are not a health risk.  Even having an iga deficiency isn't really an issue for this.

No she hasn't but she has an appointment this coming wednesday.

And no, she hasn't had the vaccine.  She is actually too old at this point being 28.

I have had hpv for about three years now.  I contracted it about a year and a half before that.  (likely I did anyway.)  I did have it treated, and it had been gone for 10 months or so, when I got what I strongly suspect is the begining of another outbreak.

There's a good hpv message board over at www.ashastd.org. Unfortunately the whole website is down right now for updates. Not quite sure when it'll be back up since they didn't memo me on it.

Has your gf had the hpv vaccine yet? It's definitely something to talk to her doctor about.

How long have you had hpv? Did you have it treated at all?
