Annual Physical: STD/HIV check?

At the annual regular physical, when they do bloodwork, do they test for STD's and HIV? Should I assume if they say that my blood work came back fine that I am ok?

No, they don't test for STD or HIV unless you ask them too.  If you're worried, get tested.

thanks. ill ask. i am worried - i recieved unprotected oral sex and ever since have been nervous about getting an STD and esp. about HIV. I started reading up on symptoms and I think that only made it worse. I'm nervous about asking, but I know its for the best

Don't worry abt HIV with oral sex.  Very low chance of that happening.  Did the person have open sores or are you noticing any sort of drip?  Regardless, oral sex has low frequency of transmitting an STD.  Not zero but very low in any event.  Try not to worry but it's always good to get tested to ease your mind.

I didn't notice any open sores...I also don't have any sort of "drip" but since the encounter I have become obsessed with checking my penis. The lips around the hole seem, at times, to be swollen to me, but then other times they don't. I can't tell if its my imagination or not. I have a physical set up for tomorrow, though. I am more nervous and mad at myself than anything else. I will take your advice and try not to worry, though :)

Stop checking yourself for a few days.  Let it go...what you're describing doesn't sound like anything.  Oral sex is very low risk.  I think it is your guilt acting out.  Get tested for peace of mind but mostly likely, everything will be negative.  Good luck with everything.

Hi,
I went to my physical. He said that my penis looks fine and normal and that I'm healthy, but he didnt take any blood work and said it wasnt necessary. I hope he's right.
Thanks for your help, too.
