Bite or STD?

A couple nights ago in my sleep I randomly felt a sharp pain directly beneath the head of my penis.  I went to the bathroom to check myself out and see what had happened, but found nothing.  The next day there were two red bumps where the pain had been, and it no longer hurt, but itched.  A few days before the pain, I had sex with a girl, I used a condom which did not break, and we didn't have sex long enough for me to finish, so I threw the condom away and showered, and that was it.  I'm worried that the two bumps are Herpes, but it also looks a lot like a spider bite, and the instant pain that occurred leads me to believe that I had been bitten by a spider at that moment.  The bumps aren't showing up anywhere else, however I realize that Herpes can be mistaken for bug bites, and I was just wondering if there was any explanation you could give me, thank you very much.

You used a condom, so your risk for getting herpes is very minimal.  I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but I do believe a primary outbreak usually occurs at the site of transmission.  That would be skin to skin contact.  So, that would have been your pelvic area not covered by the condom.  Please post all other herpes questions in the herpes forum.

One more thing:  the bumps don't constantly itch, it's not like I'm scratching at them all day, they only itch when i touch them or something, and even then they don't incredibly itch like a mosquito bite would.
