Dying of Worrying

I once had a vaginal encounter with a masseur in Thailand a year ago. My condom broke towards the completion of the intercourse when I was pulling it out. I then did not have any symptoms for a year until a month ago. I had a feverish feeling and had a cold and sore throat. I thought that this was due to my nicotine withdrawal and neglected a test. But now I'm having a feeling of a dry throat for a month now. It starts off through the nasal passage though it isnt severe. Its a mild feeling of irritation. Is this a symptom of HIV? I'm worrried like hell over this. And I'm not getting the guts to go for a test! Please advise!

Do not keep yourelf thinking so much about it and getting tense.. just go to a nearby std clinic get your blood tested for HIV.. once you know the result is negative , you are releived , and your sore throat kind of symptoms also disappear spontaneously.

No symptoms is probably a more common symptom of hiv. Since you have had an encounter in the past, there is a valid reason to get tested. There is nothing to fear but the fear itself. HIV medication nowadays is very very good.

The reason for your symptoms can be anything, but I would suggest you would get tested for hiv, even though it is not at all likely cause. But I bet you'll feel much better after you know your status. Then you are able to forget what happened in Thailand and that alone may help you to get rid of your symptoms.

Take care and happy holidays.
