I had Molluscum contagiosum for around 6 months, and it went away. It has been gone for several months now. I am wondering, have I developed an immunity to it ? It does'nt sound like it will coem back does it ?

I know this is from 2007...but I need to address this.... YOU ARE NOTTTT IMMUNE TO IT just because you had it before. Its not like chicken pox. if you had it once then got rid of it, you can get it again once its gone

I was just diagnosed with molluscum today.  From what I have read I believe once you have had it you are immune to it from that point on.  But it can take up to 18 months and sometimes 4 years for the virus to leave.  At least that's my understanding from my research.
