Gonorrhea of the Throat?

A week ago, I hooked up with an old buddy I used to play with and performed oral sex on him for about an hour, performed analingus, and then topped him anally.  All of it was unprotected.  He states that I am the only man he has been with since March of last year, and was tested for STD's in the summer of the previous year.  Since he and I stopped hooking up, I have been tested for STD's twice, with negative results both time.

Approximately three days after our encounter, I noticed my throat was starting to become sore.  In the four days since, I've noticed redness in my throat, what appeared to be a white spot on one tonsil that has since disappeared, and some congestion.  There is an occasional cough that can be either dry or productive, and when I produce mucus, it tends to be grayish-yellow.  I have no fever, and no swollen glands.  I have been on medication that tends to cause nausea, however, so the fact that I've been feeling sick could be linked either to the medication or to what, if anything, I was exposed to during this sexual encounter.

My worry is that I've contracted pharyngeal gonorrhea.  From trying to find information online, it seems that gonorrhea of the throat is extremely painful, while my sore throat ranges from mild to moderate at worst, and that coughs and congestion don't present with it.  From reading the threads here, I note that symptomatic gonorrhea of the throat is very rare at all, but all the same I'm very frightened.  Can anyone help?  I'm happy to provide more information if need be.

Hi, it would be best to have a throat swab to determine the infection but unless you gave him a "deep throat" where his penis made contact with the back of your throat, you could not contract it. And yes it would be quite painful. Another thing is if your partner did have gono to the extent that it could be passed to your throat i dont believe he would be having sex as his penis would have been on fire as gono in the urethra is no laughing matter. Very burning sensation with a white puss discharge. But do follow up with this.

Are coughs and congestion and coughing up mucus ever associated with gonorrhea of the throat?
