My question is regarding an abnormal papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer smear.
I had an abnormal papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer smear that came back CIN1 with HPV changes (LSIL) My doctor told me that this papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer smear in my age group (20) is almost always caused by HPV. I told her I was a virgin and have never done any genital to genital contact, etc... We did the HPV test that tests for the 13 intermediate to high risk strainsStrains and that came back negative. We did a colposcopy and the biopsy came back benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo. My doctor told me that it must be a low risk HPV causing the abnormal papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer smear. Everything I read says that it is rare for HPV to be found in virgins and the HPV DNA test said that greater then 90% of LSIL are caused by these 13 types of HPV. Is it possible that I don't even have HPV and that I just had a random abnormal pap smear? I know that 90% of LSIL are HPV related, but something just isn't adding up. We went to do the low risk HPV test and the lab is no longer offering it, so I am at a loss. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Have you ever fooled around with a guy? You don't have to have actual intercourse to get HPV. Also, if you used someone's towel or tried on a bathing suit immediately after someone who had HPV were using those things, you could get HPV. The chances are slim but not zero.
The other option is to have another pap b/c the first one could be wrong. Unfortunately, LSIL is caused by HPV so somehow you have been infected with it.
You are still at a good age where the vaccine could protect you. It would be wise to get the vaccine immediately. Good luck.
