Transmission can occur from an infected partner who does not have a visible sore and may not know that he or she is infected. So if you are not sure about the health of your sex partner, it is warranted that you wear a condom.
And the answer to your question: If you had protected sex with a person that didn't have any HSV outbreaks, the chances that you contracted HSV are very little to non-existent.... But if you are a sexually active person, you should get tested for STDs (including HSV) at least once a year, you never know with STDs(condoms reduce the risk of STDs, but they don't offer a 100% protection)!!! Hope you practice safe sex and stay healthy...
ok can someone just willingly answer me please. it will only take a moment of your time. mostly, I'd like to know how to avoid getting hsv if i am a sexually active person, if a condom isnt enough.
ok, i know you guys gave me some links, but the information i gathered is different from each site. i'd like to know what the best way to avoid getting hsv is and what i should be looking out for. if i use a condom and someone doesnt have an outbreak present then should i still be worried i might have caught hsv?
