HSV1 auto-inculation

Hey guys, quick question.
Is it possible to spread HSV1 to your fingers then to your genitals if you are having an oral outbreak??
Just curious, I've heard different things.
Thanks.

possible - yes in theory if it was a brand spankin new hsv1 oral infection but likely to happen? NO.

Herpes is easily killed with soap and water. If you find that you can't help yourself and are touching an active cold sore - be sure to wash your hands with soap and water. Your body starts producing protective antibodies against hsv from the moment you are infected and after the initial infection has run its course- it's not likely that you'll transmit the virus to other body parts.
