Herpes/ or ingrown hair.. help please

On a friday night I had unprotected sex with a female then on sunday I noticed a red hard bump on the base of my penis on the underneath. Naturally I began to freak thinking I have herpes. Immediately I made an appointment at the doctors the doctor told me she did not think it was herpes/ she said she thought it was an ingrown hair or cyst but she went ahead and performed a swab test on it I also called the girl I had sex with and she said she had an std test a month earlier and she was clear. A week later the results came back negative for herpes. Its been close to three weeks now and the darkish red hard bump is still there I squeezed it once and some white puss came out and then in the morning a little white head was there that I popped again. I know from looking at questions posted on this forum that regardless of herpes treatments herpes dissapears in 7-10 days I'm going on 21 days with the same big red bump.  What is this- do I need to get a second swab test done for herpes or is it some kind of ingrown hair. And if it is an ingrown hair what do I do to get rid of it and prevent them from occuring.

And don't pick at it or squeeze it anymore.

It doesn't sound like herpes, but since its still there, you should follow up with your doctor.  If its an infection like folliculitis, you might need an antibiotic if its not gone away already.
